COM PLANT respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information fairly, lawfully and transparently. This notice explains what information we collect through com-plant.com, why we use it, who we may share it with and the rights available to you under UK data protection law.

COM PLANT provides industrial plant, machinery and commercial vehicle cleaning, blasting, preparation, painting, polishing, graphics, service support, sales preparation, storage and related services.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

  • your name, company name, email address and telephone number;
  • job and enquiry information, including machine or vehicle type, make/model, quantity, location, service requirements, condition, timing and collection requirements;
  • photos, videos and other files you choose to upload as part of an enquiry;
  • booking, appointment and communication details;
  • messages sent through website chat, email or linked messaging services;
  • technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, security logs and cookie preferences; and
  • website usage information where you have consented to non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

3. How and why we use your information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess and price work, arrange quotations, site visits, bookings, collections and workshop work, provide requested services, communicate with customers, maintain business records, improve and secure the website, and comply with legal obligations.

Our lawful bases will depend on the circumstances. They may include taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business, and consent where consent is required, including for certain cookies and electronic marketing.

4. Photos and videos supplied with enquiries

Files you upload are used to understand the condition of the machine, vehicle or equipment and to help us assess the work. Please avoid uploading unnecessary personal information or images of people where this is not relevant to the enquiry.

5. Website services and third parties

The website may use or link to third-party services that process limited personal or technical information where needed to provide their function. These currently include:

  • Complianz for cookie consent management and recording your cookie preferences;
  • Crisp / Hugo for website chat and customer support. Crisp is configured to load only after the relevant cookie consent has been given;
  • Amelia for booking and appointment functions where those features are used;
  • Google Fonts where a font is loaded from Google’s servers. This may result in technical information such as your IP address being sent to Google; and
  • WhatsApp where you choose to click the WhatsApp contact link. At that point you leave our website and your interaction is handled by WhatsApp / Meta under its own privacy terms.

Our current site scan has not detected Google Analytics. If analytics or other tracking services are introduced later, this notice and the Cookie Policy will be updated where required.

6. Who we may share information with

We may use trusted suppliers that help us operate the website and business, such as website hosting, email, live chat, booking, communications, security and IT service providers. We may also share information with transport, subcontractor or professional service providers where this is necessary to deal with your enquiry or provide the service you request.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. International transfers

Some technology and communications providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or other required safeguard is in place.

8. How long we keep information

We keep enquiry and customer information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including following up quotations, managing customer relationships, resolving disputes and meeting legal, accounting or regulatory requirements. Enquiries that do not proceed are normally reviewed for deletion when they are no longer commercially or legally necessary. Records connected with completed work may be retained for longer where required for contractual, tax, accounting, warranty or legal reasons.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use Complianz to manage cookie consent. Strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent where permitted by law. Non-essential cookies or similar technologies are not intended to be used until the required consent has been obtained. You can change or withdraw your cookie choices using the Cookie Settings control on the website.
